Biggleswade Scout Group have two Beaver Colonies:
Apollo and Gemini both meeting on one evening each week during school term times only.
On some occasions, such as St.Georges day, (St.George is also the patron saint of Scouts) and Rememberance Sunday, Beavers are expected to attend parades.
Membership also requires a subsciption payment very half term for the purpose of insurance and running cost.
Beavers after an initial visiting period, while they decide whether they like Beavers, will need to get an official Beavers uniform. For details of what and where to purchase this please speak to your Colony Leaders.
Unfortunately, due to the popularity of Beaver Scouts in Biggleswade there is a waiting list. Please email us by clicking on the home page contact button, leave us all your contact details and what you need to know and we will get back to you as soon as possible.
Due to Scout Group policies, sections are expected to have a specified adult ratio to Beavers. Therefore participation by parents or carers is essential to run events, meetings and outings.
Voluntary help
Biggleswade Scout Group are a registered charity and therefore without the continued voluntary help and support of leaders, parents, carers and the local community we cannot continue to provide Scouting to young people. If you believe you have the time and skills that can help us, please talk to a leader or contact us through the contact email button on home page.
Leaders
The Group is also keen to recruit new leaders. In todays very different world this can be very rewarding; helping schools, parents and carers mould young people to meet their full and best potential, giving the young people the opportunity to do and learn things they might otherwise not get the to do.
If you have experience as a leader, within the movement or a similar organisation, or just believe you have the abilities to become a leader, maybe you have been considering giving something back to the local community but did not know how to get involved; maybe this is the right opportunity for you, then please contact us.
After an initial CRB check you will begin an excellent training programme that will provide you with the training, information and tools necessary for the role.
