Beavers from Apollo Beaver colony joined with Cubs from Jupiter, Mars and Neptune Cub Packs to celebrate Scouting’s sunrise by renewing their promise at Sunrise in Biggleswade Market Square this morning. The large group of Beavers, Cubs, Leaders and Parents assembled in the Market Square just after 5am in preparation for sunrise at 5:18am. As the sun came up first the Beavers, then the Cubs and finally the adults renewed their Promises. The short ceremony was followed by hot drinks and bacon butties.
Special guest councillor Woodward - Deputy Mayor of Biggleswade - said “I was really pleased to be invited to join with Biggleswade Scout Group for this special event. It is great to see so many young people enjoying Scouting in the local community.”
Biggleswade’s Armstrong Scout Troop is currently on Camp in South Wales and joined in the celebrations by renewing their promises at the top of a hill in the Brecon Beacons. Biggleswade’s Explorer Scout Unit also celbrated the sunrise from their camp in Henlow.
